Introduction:
NA-10 Buner is a National Assembly constituency in Pakistan, encompassing the entire district of Buner. Previously designated as NA-28 (Buner) from 1977 to 2018, the constituency underwent a name change to NA-10 (Buner) following the delimitation in 2022.
Buner District is a part of the Malakand Division. Up until 1991, it functioned as a tehsil within the Swat District before gaining independent status as a district.
In April 2009, the Taliban took over Buner after a quick fight with the locals. They enforced strict rules, like shutting down video stores, banning beard trimming, and limiting where women could go. The Pakistani government reacted by sending in the army. By the end of May 2009, most of Buner was freed from the Taliban’s control.
