Despite being situated within the Lahore City District (UC 152), it operates as an autonomous municipality under the jurisdiction of the Military Lands & Cantonments Department, which falls under the Ministry of Defense. Lahore Cantonment is recognized as an affluent neighborhood in Lahore, predominantly characterized by various housing schemes and high-end markets, contributing to its upscale status within the city.
Model Town is a meticulously planned residential area known for its remarkable symmetry. The neighborhood is laid out in a square-shaped configuration, featuring a significant circular park at its center.
