Introduction:
NA-231 Sujawal is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It includes whole district of Sujawal. On October 12, 2013, the provincial government issued a notification through the Revenue Department of Sindh, announcing the decision to divide Thatta District into two separate districts. The division was marked by the Indus River, serving as the boundary between the newly created districts.
District | Division | Province | Electorate | Area |
---|---|---|---|---|
Sujawal | Banbhore | Sindh | 348,643 | 7,335 km² |
Popularity Reason: Sujawal, known for its “red rice” or “ganjo,” is facing a big problem. The sea is taking over the land, causing soil erosion. This is making people move to new places. Researchers say the issue is due to the sea coming into the delta because there isn’t enough water flow from the Kotri barrage. This is affecting the area up to Mulla Katyar bridge. The sea’s impact is harming the delta’s nature and productivity. People are having to adapt and move because of these changes.
