Introduction:
Peshawar-III is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan, formed during the 2018 delimitation. It incorporates areas from three former constituencies: NA-2, NA-3, and NA-4.
Specific areas acquired include Qasba (from NA-2), Jaba Jungle (Tukra No. 1) (from NA-3), and Badaber (excluding Sori Zai Payan, Musa Zai, and Deh Bahadur) (from NA-4).
Peshawar’s name is derived from Sanskrit, meaning the “City of Men.” Initially belonging to Gandhara and eastern Iranian tribes, the region saw Greek dominance and later the Arab conquest, ushering in Islam. With a moderate climate and a diverse economy centered on silk, handicrafts, and textiles, Peshawar serves as a vital trade link between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Its rich history and culture make it a beloved hometown for its residents.
