Introduction:
Nowshera-II is a constituency in the National Assembly of Pakistan. Previously recognized as NA-5 Nowshera-I from 1977 to 2018, its designation shifted to NA-26 (Nowshera-II) following the delimitation in 2018. Subsequently, with the most recent delimitation in 2022, it assumed the current designation of NA-34 Nowshera-II. The capital and district headquarter is Nowshera city. It is also one of the largest cities of the province and lies on the Grand Trunk Road 27 miles due east of Peshawar.
Nowshera was established by Zain Khan Koka. In Emperor Jahangir’s “Tuzuk,” it is mentioned that Zain Khan Koka constructed a fort on the southern bank of the Kama (River Kabul).

Popularity Reason: The cantonment in Nowshera spans a 3-mile diameter along the Kabul River, surrounded by hills on all sides except the north. The garrison includes British and Native military units, and there are strategic transportation links like a permanent bridge of boats and an iron road and railway bridge. Villages like Naushahra Khurd and Naushahra Kalan lie outside cantonment limits, and the town hosts essential facilities like a Government dispensary and a vernacular middle school maintained by the District board.

They represented various political parties, including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, and Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan. Imran Khattak was elected MNA from N.A- 26 District Nowshera in the general election 2018.
