Popularity Reason: The agricultural lands in Samundri Tehsil are irrigated by the Gugera Branch Canal and Burala Branch Canal. The village numbering in the tehsil is based on the water pump numbers upon which the villages are constructed. Established during the British colonial era, Samundri Tehsil comprises 14 villages. The predominant cash crop is sugarcane, while the region also cultivates wheat, cotton, and various vegetables. Samundri is a major market for grain, whole corn, and sugar. The area specializes in sugarcane and wheat cultivation, with corn being a prominent local commodity. While rice is also grown, water shortages limit its cultivation. Additionally, the region contributes significantly to vegetable production, fulfilling half of the local demand. Being one of the oldest tehsils in Pakistan, Samundri holds historical significance.
