The Quran’s 111th chapter, Surah Lahab, often referred to as Surah Al-Masad consists of five verses. This Meccan sura bears the name Abu Lahab, after the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAWW) uncle, who is criticized in the text for his rejection of the Prophet and his hostility toward Islamic teachings.
Benefits of Surah al-Lahab:
Dwelling in Heaven
According to cited quotes from the Prophet of Islam (SAWW), people who live by the verses of Surah Masad, sometimes referred to as Surah Lahab, will be protected from heading to heaven with Abu Lahab. Islamic beliefs depict Abu Lahab, an opponent of Islam, as a person who will suffer in eternity. As a result, following the instructions of Surah Masad is regarded as a means of guaranteeing one’s place in paradise because it enables people to align their behavior with Islamic values.
Getting Rid of Pain
Surah Masad is considered a source of healing, especially for those experiencing pain. As cited in Tafsir al-Burhan (vol. 5, p. 787), the recitation of this Surah can bring relief from pain. While the exact mechanism of how this relief is provided isn’t detailed, believers find comfort and healing through the spiritual and divine connection established during the recitation.
Being in Allah’s Protection
It is customary to recite Surah Lahab before sleeping in for the night to request protection from Allah. In the Islamic faith, one looks to God for protection against evil, harm, and disasters that could happen while they sleep or in life in general. The belief that saying divine words provides spiritual stability and well-being is the foundation of this practice.
Infatuation Benefits
It is advised to recite Surah Lahab 71 times between the Maghrib (evening) and Isha (night) prayers for individuals who are experiencing unfulfilled love or infatuation. This practice is thought to assist people in breaking free from the bonds of unfaithful or unrequited love, directing their emotions in the correct direction and away from suffering. The recitation acts as a spiritual cure, offering people emotional release from the pain of unrequited love as well as clarity and mental calm.
Health Benefits
Many people stick to Surah Lahab because of its alleged health benefits. Reciting this Surah helps believers who are suffering from different illnesses and persistent discomfort. The Surah is viewed as a spiritual supplement that gives the sick relaxation and strength rather than as a substitute for medical care. It is thought that the recitation attracts heavenly blessings and healing energy, assisting in the healing process and offering comfort to individuals experiencing health problems.
Prevented Unwanted Job Transfer
Reciting Surah Lahab is perceived as a spiritual intervention for people who are expecting an unwanted job transfer. After the Maghrib prayer, believers invoke divine intervention to stop unwanted migration or job changes by reading the Surah 17 times. It is thought that by doing this, a person can better match their career path with their needs and preferences, leading to stability and job happiness.
Controlling Violent Behavior
Reciting Surah Lahab is another way to stop angry or violent conduct. Reciting this Surah regularly can provide comfort and control to those who struggle with frustration and hostility. It is said that the verse imparts a sense of composure and moderation, enabling people to control their emotions and react to circumstances with knowledge and patience rather than rage.
Warning of Hellish Risk
The Surah is an upsetting warning of the fading nature of earthly pleasures and the possible spiritual dangers of overindulging. Believers are urged to live a life of simplicity, humility, and piety by considering the Scriptures and abstaining from deeds that could bring about their spiritual demise and eternal punishment.
