The merciful name of Allah is where the surah gets its name. Surah Rahman discusses the numerous bounties that Allah bestowed upon us and enlightens the reader about the reality that many chose to reject. It makes us appreciate Allah for everything in life and draws us closer to him when it is read thoughtfully and from the heart.
Reciting Surah Rahman acknowledges the various blessings in life, opens our eyes to the truth, and draws us closer to Allah. As a result, reading it clears your thoughts of all unanswered questions and soothes your spirit. It’s stated that if you recite Surah Rahman first thing in the morning, Allah will send angels to watch over you all day. Additionally, if you read it at night, the angels will watch over you till dawn. Some people write it down and hang it on the wall for safety since reciting it at home keeps the family safe and prevents ongoing disputes.
What does Surah Rehman talk about?
Allah, the Most Merciful
The fact that Allah’s attribute, Ar Rehman, is used throughout the surah to describe the lessons found in the Quran makes it abundantly clear that the Most Merciful has bestowed upon mankind His Divine Blessing, the Quran, as a mercy and a source of guidance.
Allah is the Creator of Men and Jinn
The creation of men and jinn, according to this surah, is attributed to Allah SWT. He created man from rotten clay, similar to that of a potter, and only Allah has the ability to create men. The creation of jinn is attributed to fire of pure form, which distinguishes them from the emergence of men and other living things that are unnoticeable to the human eye.
Allah creates a balance in Universe
In this surah, Allah SWT declares that all He has created is balanced. All of the planets, the Sun, the moon, and the stars are in harmonious balance. The human race, animals, and jinns all exist in accordance with Allah’s justice and balance, as does life on land and beneath the sea. This ideal balance that Allah SWT, the Al-Mighty and the Most Merciful, has established cannot be upset by anyone.
Justice is always served
This surah emphasizes the value of equality and fairness. Allah has commanded His people to conduct fair and balanced transactions while buying and selling. It is the standard of humans to treat other people equally and justly. Since everything that Allah has made maintains equilibrium, men ought to live harmonious lives and conduct their affairs in harmony.
There are signs of Allah’s sovereignty around us
The indications of Allah’s sovereignty have been expounded upon in this Surah. The indications for the unbelievers are the sun’s continued orbit around the Earth and the moon’s precise location at the distance determined from the planets. All of these celestial bodies are under the exclusive sovereignty of Allah. There is no changing the stars that remain in their constellations. The trees that proudly stand on Earth belong to Allah alone. All things in this universe are miracles created by Allah SWT. Thus, the Quran imparts the lessons of tauheed and the unity of Allah, which are emphasized in this auspicious surah.
Have faith in the final day
Humans are reminded of the day when everyone will be evaluated based on their deeds and amaal by Allah, the Most Gracious. The summons to get up is the description of the day of resurrection given by Allah SWT in this surah. Everyone will be held responsible for their deeds and their existence on this earth, and the mountains will be demolished. the moment when everyone will just be concerned with themselves and no other souls. Man has no idea how terrifying the Day of Judgment can be. However, regardless of their distinctions in this world, everyone and everything must face accountability, as stated in this surah.
