RAWALPINDI: During an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Lakki Marwat District on Tuesday, 11 terrorists were killed by security personnel to apprehend those responsible for the IED detonation. Seven gallant soldiers, including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, lost their lives in a recent explosion caused by an improvised explosive device (IED). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release states that the operation was conducted to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
During the night of June 10–11, 2024, the security forces in the Lakki Marwat District initiated an intelligence-driven operation and successfully tracked down the terrorists’ location. The ISPR added that as a result, numerous terrorist hideouts were discovered and 11 terrorists were effectively neutralized and consigned to hell. It further said that a sanitization operation was done to get rid of any additional terrorists that might have been present. According to the ISPR, the security forces were committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism from the nation.
