The administration of Balochistan declared on Friday that two individuals were taken into custody for the killing of seven laborers from Punjab who were found dead in the seaside town of Sarbandan. In Surbandar, Gwadar, earlier this month, unidentified gunmen broke into the residential quarters of seven barbershop workers, killing one and wounding another. The incident occurred while the workers were asleep. The victims, according to the police, were from several south Punjabi cities, including Khanewal, Mian Channu, and Lodhran. In less than a month, it was the third attack against Punjabi nationals in Balochistan. Balochistan Home Minister Zia Ullah Langau stated during a press conference in Quetta that it was the responsibility of all authorities to find the criminals.
He praised all of our institutions for their efforts in carrying out their duties and following government directives, adding, “We have arrested two of the Gwadar laborers’ killers.” “Statements have been drawn from them which clearly show they were given orders,” the home minister continued. And they have had firearms and other weapons taken from them. According to what they said, he said, the offenders were given orders to execute any laborer who was Punjabi. Langau hailed the development as a “great success” and stated, “The government and chief minister have decided that these people are terrorists and do not care about our rights.” According to him, murdering low-income workers is not a legitimate form of protest; rather, it is akin to fomenting terrorism within the nation and furthering the goals of its adversaries.
