The military’s media wing stated on Monday that security forces stopped an effort to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Bajaur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of five terrorists and three slain troops.
“On night August 18/19, 2024, movement of a group of khwarij (outcasts), who were trying to infiltrate Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in Bajaur district,” according to a news release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). “Own forces engaged and successfully stopped their effort to penetrate. As a result, four Khwarij of Fitna al Khwarij were hurt and five Khwarij were consigned to hell.
Earlier this month, the government designated Pakistan’s Tehreek-i-Taliban, which is banned, as Fitna al Khawarij. According to the ISPR, during the firefight, 36-year-old Naik Inayat Khan from the Khyber district, 35-year-old Lance Naik Umer Hayat from the Mansehra district, and 25-year-old Sepoy Waqar Khan from the Peshawar district battled “gallantly” and accepted martyrdom.
Pakistan has repeatedly asked the Afghan Interim Government to guarantee efficient border control on their side of the border. The ISPR stated that the interim Afghan government is expected to uphold its duties and forbid Khwarij from using Afghan territory to carry out terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
It went on to declare that the security forces were still dedicated to keeping the borders secure and that the valiant troops’ sacrifices only served to “further strengthen our resolve.” President Asif Ali Zardari offered condolences for the event and honored the martyrs. “The nation as a whole will be grateful to the martyrs who have made the nation proud.” Terrorists’ attempt at infiltration was valiantly thwarted by the security personnel, who then consigned them to hell.
The whole country honors the Pakistan Army’s sense of loyalty and altruism. He declared, “The sacrifices made by our martyrs are something that the entire nation will never forget. At the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in KP’s Dir area last month, three terrorists attempted to infiltrate and were subsequently killed by security personnel. An increase in terrorism emanating from Afghan land was reported to have been caused by the Pakistan Army, which had stated that 29 terrorists were killed in a series of operations along the Pak-Afghan border in May.
Terrorists headquartered in Afghanistan have been trying more frequently to cross the border and strike Pakistan, according to the ISPR. Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir urged the Afghan Taliban last week not to give the TTP priority over Pakistan’s long-standing and friendly neighbor to the east, saying that Pakistan wanted cordial ties with its neighbor to the west.
