On Wednesday, an earthquake with a Richter scale value of 5.2 struck Pakistan, sending shockwaves through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir. The epicenter of the earthquake, 130 kilometers below the surface in the Hindu Kush region, was measured by the seismological center to be somewhat higher at 5.3 on the Richter scale. There were a number of towns and districts affected by the earthquakes, including Peshawar, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Buner, Azad Kashmir, Khyber, Mohmand, Orakzai, Abbottabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Mardan, and Charsadda.
