China said that fighting terrorism is in the “interest of all countries” and has supported Pakistan’s investigation into the suicide attack on its engineers in Bisham on March 26. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency on Monday. The reaction from the Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman came the day after Pakistan accused hostile foreign intelligence services and the Afghanistan-based, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is proscribed, of being behind the attack. The Chinese official made comments that did not expressly mention Kabul, even as Pakistan urged that Afghanistan take action against terrorists operating out of its territory.
“China regards with great significance the noteworthy advancements made by the Pakistani side regarding the examination of the terrorist strike,” Mao Ning stated during a press briefing on Monday. “China backs Pakistan’s efforts to uncover the entire truth about what transpired and to find and prosecute all those responsible.” To improve security cooperation and guarantee the safety and security of Chinese employees, projects, and institutions in Pakistan, she declared that the two countries “will continue to work. As a “common enemy of humanity and a scourge against regional development and stability,” Ms. Ning urged all countries to step up their efforts to eradicate terrorism.
“China urges all nations in the region to fortify counterterrorism cooperation, eradicate all terrorist groups, eliminate their havens, and safeguard the shared security and development objectives of all nations.” Earlier on Sunday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi demanded that the TTP chief Noor Wali Mehsud, its Malakand Commander Azmatullah, and the entire leadership of the banned group be arrested for their roles in the attack, along with three accused terrorists, Bakhtiar Shah, Qari Abdullah, and Khan Lala. “It’s crucial that they detain these terrorists, bring charges against them, or turn them over to us if they want to build strong ties with Afghanistan,” he stated.
