RAWALPINDI: At an investiture ceremony conducted here at General Headquarters on Monday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, awarded military awards to Army troops in recognition of their valiant actions during operations and their distinguished contributions to the country. The ceremony was attended by a sizable contingent of families of the recipients as well as senior Army officials. Medals like Tamgha-I-Basalat and Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) were given to the officers and troops. According to a press release from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the family members of the deceased got Shuhada medals.
“There is nothing nobler than laying one’s life for the defense of one’s motherland and the sacrifices of our martyrs strengthen our resolve to fight with utmost dedication and spirit of sacrifice,” the COAS remarked in honoring the Shuhada (martyrs) and Ghazis. The Army Chief also praised the courageous Shuhada families for their sacrifices and upbeat demeanor. The COAS declared, “The nation owes its independence and security to the sacrifices of its valiant warriors. Shahdada and Ghazis are our national heroes.” Indeed, our Shuhada are the nation’s rays of hope and resiliency.
