NAROWAL: The relatives of the young person killed in what is believed to have been an accident involving Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s protocol vehicle five days ago have received a cheque for Rs2.5 million from the government. Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hasan Raza and MPA Ahmad Iqbal visited Muhammad Abubakar’s home in the village of Jasar at the chief minister’s request. They conveyed the CM’s condolence message to the deceased’s parents and expressed their sorrow. They handed Abubakar’s father, Fakhr Ayaz, a cheque for Rs. 2.5 million on behalf of the chief minister.
The government, according to MPA Ahmad Iqbal, sympathized with the victim’s family. In a collision on the Narowal-Shakargarh Road on April 18, 23-year-old Abubakar was purportedly involved in the chief minister’s protocol car. The Abubakar motorcycle was involved in a collision with another motorcycle, according to the Narowal police, and he was instantly killed when a “government vehicle” struck him.
It was alleged that Maryam Nawaz had witnessed the incident and had asked the DC for a thorough report on it. Fakhr Ayaz, Abubakar’s father, was a laborer, and the latter worked at a filling station. Legal action against the driver of the official car had also been directed by the chief minister to be taken by the police.
