ISLAMABAD: On Friday, a report that claimed Pakistan had promised to give Iran medium-range ballistic missiles was denied by Islamabad. A Jerusalem Post article that claimed that Pakistan intended to provide Iran with Shaheen-III medium-range ballistic missiles “should the conflict between Iran and Israel intensify” was refuted by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly press briefing.
These reports are untrue. According to the state-run APP, the spokesperson stated, “It is important to consider the source of such baseless reports and the malicious agenda behind them before paying any attention to them.” “In the Middle East, this is a pivotal moment. So, we implore everyone including the media to refrain from spreading false information.
Pakistan rejects India’s claims of involvement in the happenings in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the FO spokesperson emphasized that such claims illustrate India’s unsettling fixation with Pakistan in response to another query concerning Indian reports of Pakistan’s participation in incidents in Bangladesh, as reported by Radio Pakistan.
She stated, “Indian political ledgers and their media have a habit of blaming Pakistan for their failures in domestic and foreign policy.” The spokesperson said that for the past several years, there has been a positive development in the relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year reign came to an end as a result of the large, violent protests that began in July over public sector job quotas for families of veterans of Bangladesh’s 1971 liberation struggle. Due to the violent protests, the Bangladeshi army was compelled to intervene. General Waker-uz-Zaman, the army chief, had previously declared the establishment of a provisional government, with Professor Yunus serving as its head.
