Foreign visitors in the Astore area, which was impacted by flash flooding, were safe and out of the affected area, according to information provided to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The NDMA was given instructions by the prime minister to make sure visitors are safe and to shield the community from any unrest.
The NDMA reported to the prime minister that the Authority acted promptly under his directive to safeguard foreign visitors in the area affected by flooding. An Argentinean and two Italian tourists were reported to be safe and out of the impacted region. In addition, efforts were being made to guarantee the prompt reconstruction of the Feena Bridge.
According to the report, the relevant departments, including the NDMA, were investigating the issue and prepared to handle any emergency.
