LAHORE: Early on Saturday, a 27-year-old German cyclist was robbed near the North Cantonment police station in Lahore. In response to his complaint, he filed a first information report (FIR) at the North Cantonment police station under Section 382 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which prohibits theft committed with intent to cause murder, serious injury, or restraint.
According to the report, Florian Berg, 27, was robbed around 1:30 in the morning when two men ambushed his tent, which was positioned on a patch of meadow next to the road. After he told them he had no cash, the suspects allegedly dug through his backpack, according to the FIR. Berg stated he tried to run away but the suspects apprehended him and took his possessions, which included a camera, a phone, a power bank, AirPods, and Rs 5,000.
Berg also reported that the two had physically abused him. In response to the robbery, Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Faisal Kamran formed special squads to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators, according to a police statement. According to the statement, the visitor received medical attention at the Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital, and the police were also keeping an eye on secure city cameras to locate the criminals. The DIG promised that all of the tourist’s goods would be returned and that the suspects would be taken into custody shortly.
