In a meeting on Friday with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Masjid-e-Nabvi Imam Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair emphasized Pakistan’s “significant role” in the Muslim world, according to the military’s media affairs wing. The Imam began a seven-day goodwill visit to Islamabad one day ago.
There is a close relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as evidenced by the regular visits by officials from both nations. Realizing the potential of untapped economic development, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud predicted in April of this year that his visit to Pakistan would yield “significant benefits” in the coming months.
Imam Al-Budair visited COAS Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, according to a news statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), and they spoke about topics of shared interest. “Pakistan holds a prominent position in the Muslim world and is fulfilling its essential role for maintaining peace and stability in the area,” the imam was cited by the ISPR.
The army chief greeted him with the dignitary and stated that his visit was a “matter of honor” for the country. According to the ISPR, both parties expressed satisfaction with their bilateral ties, and Imam Al-Budair prayed for harmony, peace, and stability among Muslims worldwide.
Additionally, Imam Al-Budair went to the National Assembly, where he was greeted cordially by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who described the visit as a “joy and blessing” in a news release issued by the NA Secretariat. According to Sadiq the Prophet’s Mosque, has a unique status for millions of Muslims worldwide. He also emphasized that the imam’s visit is a sign of the “stable and historic ties” that exist between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
While expressing his gratitude for the cordial greeting, Imam Al-Budair described the affection and sincerity he experienced in Pakistan as “unforgettable.” He also valued Pakistan’s contribution to fostering Muslim unity and bringing about long-lasting peace in the area. The imam offered a special prayer for the growth and prosperity of Pakistan as well as the encouragement of Muslim brotherhood and unity at the speaker’s request.
