RAWALPINDI: The Met Office issued a rain-wind/thunderstorm forecast for numerous regions of the nation on Monday, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, for the period of April 24 to 29. According to the report, a westerly wave is predicted to hit most of Pakistan’s higher regions on April 26 after it is expected to reach western Pakistan on April 24 (night). From April 26 to 29, rain-wind/thunderstorm (a few moderate/heavy falls) is predicted in the following locations: Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal.
From April 26 to 28, there will be sporadic gaps in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahimyar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar. During this time, hailstorms are also anticipated in a few isolated areas. The regions of Nushki, Pishin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, Awaran, Chaghi, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Quetta, Ziarat, Shirani, and Musakhel in Balochistan are expected to experience rain, wind, and thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls).
A rain-windstorm/thunderstorm with snowfall over high mountains is predicted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 25 (evening/night) to April 29 in the following locations: Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, and Kurram, with sporadic gaps. From April 26 to 29, there will be intermittent gaps in the weather in Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir. Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are also predicted, with snowfall over high mountains in Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur.
In Sindh, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar are all predicted to see a dust thunderstorm/light rain on April 25 and 26. The Met Office issued a warning, saying that on April 26 and 27, isolated, moderate to heavy rainfall might cause flash floods in Balochistan nullahs and streams, particularly in Nushki, Pishin, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Gwadar, Kech, and Awaran; on April 27 and 28, it could also cause flash floods in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan, and Kashmir.
The sensitive areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Murree may see landslides between April 27 and 29. Farmers have been encouraged to manage their crops with consideration for the weather, particularly in locations where wheat is harvested. Travelers are urged to avoid making needless trips, especially from April 26 to 29. Low temperatures will probably drop during the wet spell.
