QUETTA: Since no other legislator filed a nomination paper for the position, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party, was elected chief minister of Balochistan on Friday without any opposition. The chief minister promised to work with all stakeholders to advance the province’s prosperity and growth to address other concerns and enhance governance. Speaking with reporters at the Balochistan Assembly during the filing of his nomination papers, he stated that the Pakistan People’s Party was a dialogue party and that negotiations were the primary means of resolving conflicts.
He made a plea to the irate citizens to come along with the mainstream and contribute to the nation’s progress. To grow the province and create long-term solutions for other problems, the chief minister emphasized the importance of having discussions with opposition parties. Speaking for the country as a whole, he emphasized that constructive criticism will be accepted and that harmful politics should be avoided. To move Balochistan forward, Sarfraz Bugti claimed that an agreement would be reached with the opposition, and he would always be open to discussions. He declared that a plan for sustainable development and addressing the province’s shared problems would be distributed.
Unopposed in his election, the chief minister claimed he was unaware of the two-and-a-half-year government formula. For appointing him for the position of chief minister, he expressed gratitude to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. The chief minister received congratulations on the occasion from Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, a member of the Balochistan Assembly and the central leader of the PPP.
Citing Sarfraz Bugti’s outstanding performance as the Provincial Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, he declared that the party would fully support him. In the province, the PPP garnered a significant majority, according to PPP Provincial President Mir Changez Khan Jamali.
