ISLAMABAD: According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the true motive behind the recent attacks was to bring about a dictatorship, demolish democracy, and weaken national unity to cause social unrest. He referred to the incidents on May 9 as a rebellion against the state and its institutions on Thursday. Amid a special meeting of the federal cabinet at Parliament House, the prime minister declared that May 9th, when the rioters attacked the defense institutions and the monuments honoring the Ghazis and their sacrifices, was a dark day in Pakistani history. In addition to being a plot against Pakistan, the diabolical May 9 plan also targeted the government, the Pakistan Army, and General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff.
But that plan was foiled because of Allah Ta’ala. But the country wants to know why the offenders haven’t been prosecuted after a year,” he said. According to him, the purpose of hosting the cabinet meeting at Parliament House was to convey a message of harmony and show support for the country’s brave warriors and sacrifices. According to the prime minister, the May 9 attacks were carried out to thwart the PDM government’s efforts to stabilize the economy at the time, obstruct the normalization of tense relations with friendly nations, conceal foreign funding, the Toshakhana and 190 million pound corruption scams, and guarantee the appointment of unqualified candidates to important positions. The prime minister used the riots in the UK and the USA as an example of how no nation could stand such abhorrent crimes against the state institutions.
Except for May 9, he claimed, all of the nation’s politicians have handled difficult situations by using the catchphrase “Pakistan Khappay” or by tolerating the suffering without speaking a word against Pakistan. He stated that in addition to hurling accusations of “35 punctures” (a reference to poll rigging) and making contradicting claims in a cipher case, the perpetrators of the May 9 attacks had also undermined Pakistan’s ties with the United States, which the current government was attempting to strengthen. He claimed that the country had seen the riots of May 9 and that those who planned and carried out the anti-state scheme had also been exposed, with some of the conspirators even coming clean in recordings.
He claimed that anti-Pakistan propaganda was still being sent internationally and that some people were still writing letters to try to undermine the country’s economy. He thanked the political parties for their cooperation and informed the cabinet that the administration had already set the nation’s economy on the path to stability. Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation to the Pakistani Chief Justice for promising to help the expeditious resolution of tax matters involving around Rs 2700 billion. He thanked the participants in his most recent trip to Saudi Arabia, describing it as the “most productive and useful” trip of his life. Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Minister of Law and Justice, described the Ma 9 episodes as unfortunate and emphasized the necessity for the country to always find a route of rectification.
He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz for leading the investigation into the May 9 attacks and acting swiftly. The law minister brought the report of a committee that was established by the caretaker government, led by Interim Law Minister Ahmed Irfan, on the May 9 incident to the cabinet. The committee categorically named the PTI leadership as the cause of the rioting. He claimed that the PTI leadership had advocated for exaggerating the story and referred to the no-confidence motion against its government as a foreign conspiracy. The committee also recommended many measures, including raising awareness among young people, fostering national unity, and passing legislation at the provincial and federal levels to guarantee successful prosecution.
The Privatization Minister People had the right to demonstrate and express themselves freely, according to Abdul Aleem Khan, but there was always a line for the nation. He claimed that because no one could be allowed to act freely in the name of freedom of expression, the Capitol Hill rioters were found guilty. Syed Naveed Qamar, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, stated that the events on May 9 demonstrated the offenders’ hostility toward the government. But he demanded that the genuine offenders be revealed and the innocent people be cleared so that the condemnations could proceed.
In his 35-year political career, which was marked by ups and downs as well as agitations, Pakistan Muslim League-Zia leader Aijazul Haq claimed that nobody had ever rebelled against the nation’s institutions. “I had referred to this day as a Black Day in history because it was such a regrettable occasion. He declared that the offenders ought to face consequences and advocated for bringing the country together around a basic agenda aimed at improving Pakistan.
