PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bukhari highlights that if the administration feels “threatened,” a new mandate is necessary. With political tensions rising, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has urged the federal government to dismiss the National Assembly and organize fresh elections.
This counsel was provided by PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, who stressed the necessity of a new mandate if the administration felt endangered. Bukhari said, “The government should dissolve the assembly and call fresh elections if it perceives a threat,” in an interview with a private television program.
To dissolve the assembly and prepare for elections, he recommended that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif write President Asif Ali Zardari an advice. Bukhari expressed worries about the government’s unwillingness to discuss its problems with the PPP. “PPP is prepared to bolster the government in the legislature, but it ought to produce something significant. President Zardari has expressed time and time again that he is prepared to mediate disputes and take a constructive role, but communication must be initiated, according to Bukhari.
He issued a warning, saying that the nation could suffer if the political system were to collapse. The leader of the PPP also discussed the party’s reluctance to accept the election results. “We had some doubts about accepting the election results.
“Would the parliament and the Chief Executive’s office be functioning today if we had not supported the PML-N?” he questioned, highlighting the PPP’s contribution to stabilizing the government.
