ISLAMABAD: Jahangir Tareen, the Patron-in-Chief of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and the party’s leader has declared his resignation from politics following his party’s loss in both constituencies in the recent Pakistani elections.
The prominent politician thanked everyone who had supported him in the election and congratulated his opponents on his Monday post on X, which was once Twitter. I hold the Pakistani people’s will in the highest regard. I have therefore decided to leave politics completely and resign from my role as Chairman of the IPP. On Monday, Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq submitted his resignation from his position, citing the party’s inability to secure even a single National Assembly seat in the parliamentary elections held on February 9.
