Eild-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 17 according to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which said on Friday that it had spotted the Zilhaj moon. Together with concurrent zonal meetings in Islamabad and the provincial capitals, this meeting was held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department office in Karachi. The moon was observed, according to Peshawar zonal meeting officials, however, the central committee will officially declare it such. Later, at a press conference in Karachi, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, announced that Eid will be observed on June 17 in response to reports of moon sightings from cities across the nation, including Peshawar, Attock, Kohat, Mianwali, Taxila, Murree, Narowal, and Lahore.
“You have to spend these 10 days [of Haj] in worship because, as you know, this is a very blessed month and the merits of these days have also been explained,” he remarked. Maulana Azad urged the people to band together to thwart the plots of its adversaries, stating that the nation was progressing. Additionally, he stated that the law enforcement agencies tasked with maintaining national security were motivated by the nation’s prayers. The last month of the Islamic calendar began today, and the Saudi Arabian Supreme Court declared the sighting of the Zilhaj moon a day ago. With the Day of Arafat on June 15, the Haj ceremonies will begin on June 14. In the kingdom on June 16, people will celebrate Eidul Azha.
