Introduction:
NA-257 Hub Lasbela Awaran is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. It comprises the districts of Lasbela, Awaran, and Hub from the province of Balochistan. It was created in 2022 out of areas from NA-270 (Panjgur-cum-Washuk-cum-Awaran) and NA-272 (Lasbela-cum-Gwadar).

Popularity Reason: Awaran is renowned as the “oasis of dates,” emphasizing its significant production of this fruit. In addition to dates, the district cultivates onions on a large scale, with an estimated annual production of 53,000 tons. Wheat and barley are major Rabi crops, contributing to the agricultural landscape. Kharif crops in Awaran include fruits and pulses, further diversifying the region’s agricultural output. Historically known as Kolwa, Awaran is acknowledged as the poorest district in the province, highlighting the economic challenges faced by its residents. Despite its economic status, the district’s agricultural activities play a crucial role in sustaining livelihoods and contributing to the local economy.

The consolidated results of the general election 2018 for NA-272 (Lasbela Gawadar) included candidates from various political parties and independent contestants.
