Introduction:
Bannu (NA-39) is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan, encompassing the entire district of Bannu. The constituency was previously designated as NA-26 Bannu from 1977 to 2018, and it was renamed NA-35 Bannu following the delimitation in 2018.
Bannu shares borders with North Waziristan to the northwest, Karak to the northeast, Lakki Marwat and Bettani to the southeast, and South Waziristan to the southwest.

Popularity Reason: Bannu is recognized for its major industries, including cloth weaving, sugar mills, and the production of cotton fabrics, machinery, and equipment. Additionally, it is famous for hosting a weekly Jumma fair. The district is situated in a basin irrigated by the Kurram and Gambila (or Tochi) rivers, originating from the Waziristan hills. Despite being surrounded by arid and rugged mountains, Bannu is described as a fertile area, and early English visitors have even referred to it as a “paradise.”

In the 2018 General Elections, candidates from various political parties, including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, PPP, PTI, MMA, and TLP, as well as independent candidates, contested in NA-30. Candidates in the general election of 2018 from NA-35 Bannu included Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, Akram Khan Durrani, Syeda Yasmin Safdar, Hamid Shah, Islam Noor, Muhammad Usman Ali Khan, Abdus Samad Khan, Inam Ullah, Wali Dad Khan, Ameen Ullah, Safdar Iqbal Shah, and Liaqat Ali Khan. Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi emerged victorious and was elected as the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from NA-35 District Bannu. Subsequently, Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi vacated this seat, leading to a by-election in NA-35.
