ISLAMABAD: The new administration, led by Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was urged on Wednesday by Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to put in a lot of effort to address the country’s economic difficulties. He added that the nation would face major obstacles for a year or two that could only be overcome by sheer hard effort while addressing the PML-N’s Parliamentary Party at Parliament House. Thanking the party’s lawmakers for their unexpected victory in the election, Nawaz expressed his congratulations. He also wished the National Assembly members a warm welcome into the PNL after they ran as independent candidates.
The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N commended his brother Shehbaz Sharif for his dedication, which allowed his previous administration to move the nation away from default. Nawaz Sharif proposed Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a PML-N candidate, to be Speaker of the National Assembly, and Shehbaz Sharif to be Prime Minister. He noted that Pakistan developed into a nuclear power, overcame chronic power load shedding, eradicated terrorism, and constructed a national network of highways and motorways under the previous PML-N administrations in which he served as prime minister.
Nawaz denounced the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for continuously accusing people of manipulating every national election. He said that Tahir ul Qadri, the leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), was planning conspiracies against his administration. Nevertheless, he continued, he was still dedicated to the nation’s advancement despite disruptive sit-ins. He said he had instantly asked the PTI founder how he was doing after learning of his injuries in 2013. A 24-hour break was observed throughout the election campaign. According to Nawaz, he paid a courtesy call to the PTI leader’s Bani Gala home after the PML-N’s victory. He noted, however, that he persisted in his confrontational politics, accusing politicians and PML-N leaders of electoral manipulation and using disparaging words against them.
