ISLAMABAD: The PTI founding chairman Imran Khan led peaceful protestors on May 25, but the state unleashed its full fury on them, according to the PTI, and they were subjected to tear gas, rubber bullets, and batons for hours. As a result, the PTI has dubbed May 25 the darkest day in the nation’s political history. To establish the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law in the nation, Imran Khan initiated the Haqiqi Azadi (actual freedom) movement two years ago and organized a nonviolent march, according to a PTI official. According to the spokesperson, the state’s fascist tendencies reached their zenith on May 25, 2022, when the Azadi March participants were exposed to a reign of terror and cruel treatment in flagrant violation of the law and the Constitution.
Imran Khan declared on May 24, 2022, that he would start a lengthy march to Islamabad on May 25. He led the demonstration from Peshawar, but it was halted at Attock before it could reach the nation’s capital. The spokesperson claimed that on May 25, 2022, PTI leaders and employees were detained and taken away, residences were raided, harassment of women and children occurred, and human rights were abused nationwide. He claimed that in addition to numerous injuries and the destruction of their properties and homes, two PTI employees were martyred. He claimed that the government made every effort to drive the nation into civil war, but Imran Khan raised the peace flag high and prevented an internal crisis and anarchy by facing and enduring all of the government’s atrocities.
The PTI spokesperson bemoaned the fact that on May 9, over 10,000 workers and senior party leaders including women were arrested and imprisoned under the guise of a “false flag operation.” He continued by saying that the PTI and Imran Khan were the constant targets of violence and retaliation and that the state was still involved in extrajudicial and unlawful acts. He argued that Pakistan needs stability, which can only be attained by upholding the supremacy of the Constitution and the law. He demanded the immediate cessation of state persecution and Imran Khan’s release to give the nation and country the effective leadership it needs before the crisis worsens and the situation becomes unmanageable.
