Popularity Reason: Ghotki, a district in Pakistan, boasts a varied landscape from fertile plains along the Indus River to the Thar Desert. Founded in 637, its history intertwines with an army settlement established by Raja Ibn Selaj Birhman. With strategic connectivity through National Highway N-5 and the Multan-Sukkur Motorway M-5, Ghotki is an agricultural hub, excelling in sugarcane, cotton, wheat, and rice cultivation. The region is home to over five sugar mills and plays a vital role in industries like fertilizers and gas fields. Mirpur Mathelo, the main town, is historically rich, hosting the ancient site of Moomal Ji Mari. The district’s cultural tapestry includes Shadani Darbar, the largest Hindu temple in Sindh.
